SFO RETREAT 2012
Following two very successful Retreats in 2010 and 2011, the dates for the 2012 Retreat have been set from the evening of Friday May 25th until after lunch on Sunday May 27th. The Retreat will be led by Sr. Elizabeth Obbard, a Carmelite solitary (or hermit) attached to Aylesford Priory in Kent where “she lives a life of prayer, solitude and closeness to guests and pilgrims”. It will be drawing on the lives of two notable Franciscan women, St Elizabeth of Hungary and Angela of Foligno. Sr. Elizabeth is a very experienced leader of Retreats. The cost will be £111 for the weekend as in 2011. (Deposit £25 to Treasurer (below) by Jan. 31st . Cheques payable to “SFO Chilworth”). Attendance can be non-residential but residence is encouraged to get the most from the weekend. In addition to members of the Ladywell Fraternity, attendance is open to any members of the SFO from the Southern Region and beyond. Indeed it has been felt that SFO members from outside the Fraternity have added to the fraternal nature of the Retreat, benefitting everyone. LADYWELL EVENTS
The February Day of Prayer is on Tuesday, February 14th and will be led by Fr. Derek Laverty. These are days “to ponder, pray and be still, with the opportunity for some spiritual input”. WINTERSHALL EVENTS

FINDING SILENCE - WORTH ABBEY

BIOETHICS THINKING
The fifth talk covering an examination of recent developments in medical law and their implications – “Does medical law make sense?” will be held on Wednesday 15th February at 8.00 pm in the Parish Hall at Christ the Prince of Peace, Portmore Way, Portmore Park Road, Weybridge,KT13 8 DJ. CAFOD LENT FAST DAY - 2nd March
CAFOD are celebrating “50 Years of CAFOD” this year. In 1962 £32,000 was raised nationally and this has increased to several million pounds today. CAFOD, the official aid agency of the Catholic Church, has brought hope and compassion to our needy brothers and sisters overseas and stood side by side with them to end poverty and injustice. This year as “50 years” are celebrated the UK Government will DOUBLE what is raised during CAFOD’s Lenten Appeal (mid Feb. to mid May). Please support your parish in giving to CAFOD over the Lent period.
